Do you prefer ‘a person with ADHD’ or ‘an ADHDer’?
Does it make a difference who is talking – is it better for a healthcare professional to say ‘person with a disability’ or ‘disabled person’?
If you have ADHD (and you are 18 years or older), a team from Deakin University would like to know what you think as part of their research on disability language preferences. This study is part of a larger group of studies looking at the language preferences of people with disabilities or chronic health conditions.
To have your say, you can complete a 10 – 15 minute survey. Visit the Deakin University website to take part.
The survey closes on 15 September 2025.
