Len Russell joins ADHD Australia as its inaugural CEO

Len Russell was appointed as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of ADHD Australia in August 2017 to lead the organisation from being a board based volunteer management organisation into one which represents ADHD issues more consistently across Australia. His focus will be delivering on the organisation’s mission and bringing the ADHD community together as a catalyst for positive change within the wider community.

Len comes to us with an extensive mixture of experience from both the not for profit and corporate sectors. His experience covers a number of areas such as leading fundraising teams, donor stewardship, product marketing and corporate governance.

Prior to joining ADHD Australia, Len was Head of Fundraising for MS Research Australia and he was part of the senior executive fundraising team at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA), a Sydney medical research institute which focused on diseases of the brain and mind. Complimenting his not for profit working experience, he is the Chair and non-executive director of an organisation providing support for people with disabilities within Western Sydney.

Before embarking on a career in the not for profit sector, Len worked in sales, marketing and product development in the Legal Publishing, Telecommunications and Earthmoving Equipment industry sectors.

Len is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is also a member of the Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA) which is the national peak body for fundraising within Australia and since 2010 has been a member of the FIA’s NSW Executive Committee. He has also been an Advisory Committee member for the Parramatta Community Justice Clinic, part of the University of Western Sydney’s law faculty initiative for student practical legal experience.
