Help develop neurodiversity-affirming perinatal care
If you're ADHD and have had a perinatal lived experience within the last 5 years, researchers want to hear from you

Researchers at Edith Cowan University in WA are conducting a research study exploring the unique perinatal experiences of ADHD parents and co-developing neurodiversity-affirming strategies to improve maternity care.
Despite growing awareness of neurodiversity, there remains a gap in perinatal care that fully addresses the lived experiences and needs of those with different neurotypes such as Autism and ADHD.
If you're ADHD and have had a perinatal lived experience within the last 5 years, this is your chance to share your insights and help create real change!
The research team is led by Jata Elliott, a lived-experience Ph.D. candidate at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. Jata is also a Registered Midwife.
The Study has been co-designed by lived-experience individuals from a stakeholder group to be neuro-affirming and strengths-based, using a unique methodology.
To qualify to participate, you must:
- Identify as an ‘ADHDer’ (a person with Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder),
- Have had a perinatal lived experience within the last 5 years in Australia,
- Have been the pregnant / birthing person, and
- Be over 18yrs old now.
