Program Lead - Parents & Carers

Play a key role in developing and delivering ADHD information sessions and materials to parents and carers to help them understand the condition and how to best support those in their care.

Around one in twenty Australians live with ADHD, and ADHDA is committed to enabling them to reach their full potential at every stage of life. We achieve this through advocacy, support, education, evidence-based research, and ongoing work to support early intervention, the removal of barriers and reduced ADHD-related stigma. 

Position Overview 

The volunteer position of Program Delivery Lead – Carers and Parents, ADHD Australia Ltd is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and delivering information sessions and materials to parents and carers surrounding the topic of ADHD. This will help parents and carers to understand the condition and therefore, how to best support those in their care. 

This volunteer role requires time commitment of 2 hours per week as far as possible.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables 

  • In conjunction with Head of Program Delivery, you will develop a program strategy framework within the parents and carers stream
  • You will collaborate with the Head of Program Delivery to establish key milestones and areas of priority focus
  • Deliver written resources to be rolled out online for parents and carers to access
  • Assist in the management of resource writers to collaborate on the delivery of written educational materials
  • Proof read work for content accuracy and adherence to ADHD Australia communication guidelines
  • Reporting progress to the Head of Program Delivery, and early identification of roadblocks
  • Keeping track of key dates, deliverables, and internal/external stakeholder information
  • Adherence to best practice and compliance guidelines

Experience 

  • Demonstrated prior experience in content development, copywriting, or similar
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of ADHD in children – presentations, care requirements, and how to help
  • Experience in drafting content whilst adhering to organisational tone of voice
  • High level of appreciation for best practice, compliance, and privacy

Qualifications 

  • Tertiary Qualifications in copywriting, communications, social work, psychology, or similar
  • A current National Police Check (completed the last 3 months) or willingness to complete one
  • A current Working With Children Check or willingness to complete one
